If at work or in a shop there may be a first aider on site<\/li>\n<li>Obtain names and mobile numbers of others in accident, witnesses and police officers<\/li>\n<li>If in a road traffic accident record registration numbers and makes of vehicles. Also if on a bus, obtain number printed inside the bus<\/li>\n<li>Take photographs and videos of vehicles or the hazard the caused the accident. Try and measure the tripping edge if a trip accident<\/li>\n<li>If necessary, telephone your breakdown company to remove vehicles. Take your belongings with you<\/li>\n<li>Are there CCTV cameras at accident scene? If so try and preserve footage by contacting the operator<\/li>\n<li>Report the accident to your own insurance company<\/li>\n<li>If there is one, ensure that the Accident Record Book is completed<\/li>\n<li>Tell the medical staff (paramedics, doctors, GP) how your accident happened<\/li>\n<li>You may need to report the accident to the police, even if you have left the scene<\/li>\n<li>Keep a diary of events<\/li>\n<li>Note down your injuries and take photographs<\/li>\n<li>Keep a diary of expenses<\/li>\n<li>Keep receipts<\/li>\n<li>Keep wage slips<\/li>\n<li>You may be eligible for Benefits, make enquiries<\/li>\n<li>You may still claim if the other driver has no insurance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>REMEMBER YOU ARE FREE TO USE A SOLICITOR OF YOUR OWN CHOICE.
